Kneading board care

Hello,
I just bought the Kneading Board and I’m confused about whether or not it needs to be treated with oil. I’ve been doing some research and on some sites it says oil will get absorbed and make it smell rancid? That one just needs to wipe off the flour after using it?
Could somebody advise on that? Thank you .

I believe the boards can be treated with food-safe mineral oil. I also have a kneading board, and I’ve been using my bench knife to scrape off flour/dough, washing it with a wet cloth, and drying it with another cloth.

This is the product – I need to use it on my rolling pins and cutting boards too.
