Hazelnut Nutella Babka

Yesterday’s bake: Hazelnut Nutella Babka (yeasted)

I ran across this recipe recently while looking for something to give as a gift to celebrate my niece’s college graduation. The recipe makes 2 loves, was pretty straightforward and relatively quick to make (because it is yeasted). I am sure you could easily adapt to leaven with sourdough if you like. I really liked adding the chopped hazelnuts, since they added a nice crunch to the otherwise soft and chocolate-y (is that a word?) bite. It had a wonderful flavor, but was plenty sweet enough without brushing it with sugar syrup, so I probably won’t use that in the future.

Although my wife generally likes all the baked goods I make, she was almost stunned by how good this babka was! (although it could have been the sweet chocolate buzz she got from eating it .)
