I am an Army brat and lived many years as a child in Germany. I loved the bread there. We called it Schwartz brot. Does anyone have a recipe for this type of bread?
Black Bread. Is there a one particular classic recipe for black bread? I’m not sure there is. You will probably find many versions. Will probably have some rye flour and often some form of colouring in the recipe (molasses or coffee are both common). And it will be a sourdough.
