Starter Hydration (Weird Scenario)

So I was in the middle of feeding my starter. I had 25g of starter in my container, then added 75g of water, and was planning on adding 75g of flour–BUT–then I knocked over the container.
What was left was 80g of a water and starter mix.

I tired to take a guess at how much flour to feed it based on what was left in the container, and ended up giving it 45g of flour. I’m not sure that’s not 100% accurate.

So my question is: is this starter a lost cause, or if I continue to give it normal feedings at 100% hydration, will it eventually catch up to itself enough to be considered a true/accurate 100% starter?

Thanks!

It will normalize over time and is definitely not a problem.

I fed by eye for probably a year and my starter likely ranged from 80%-150% hydration. Over time, you’ll get a sense of the feeding-stirring-stiffness feel of the hydration you prefer, and if it’s close-ish to 100% you won’t need to modify recipes using 100% hydration starter.

Phew–okay, good!
Thought I killed it–Not a great way to start the day.

Thanks a lot!

You’re welcome
