Sourdough starter question

I have two sourdough starters - both made from the same sourdough starter that I purchased from Breadtopia. I’ve baked with them both several times so far.
Currently the whole wheat starter smells very pleasant so I’m confident using it.
The white flour starter smells strong with sort of an edge…not sure how to describe…maybe like vinegar? I do see bubbles. Not sure if it it ok the use. I stirred it after taking it from the refrigerator and set it on the counter with the lid removed. The odor is now not so strong but still present.

I’d appreciate any ideas…this is my first venture into sourdough baking and I’m loving it.
