Recipe Size Romertopf Medium Clay Baker 99150

I’m thinking of purchasing the Romertopf Medium Clay Baker 99150. I have other bakers, but I want one that will fit in my countertop oven for baking on hot summer days when I don’t want to run the oven. The description says baker is 2 quart and good for small loaves. Would a recipe with 300g (a little less than 2 1/2c) of flour fit? Thanks

I’ve got pretty much the same question. Most of my bread recipes contain 3 to 4 cups of flour and a cup or so of fluid.

The 2 qt (Medium) baker is best suited for dough weighing less than 1 1/2 lbs (680g). Your dough sounds like it might fit on the upper limit (4x130) + 237 = 627 (plus starter and salt).

If you want side support and are using flours that have less oven spring, then this could be ideal. If you are using refined flour and want your bread to expand free-form, then you probably want the larger clay bakers (3.1 - 4 quart).

Thanks - you answered my question.
