Baking ingredient amounts

Hello ,

Can you just reduce by 1/2 all the ingredients in a recipe if you do want to make the full amount of bread that is listed in that recipe?

Thanks for any thpughts or guidance; or maybe even is there a rule of thumb to go by inordr to do this ?

As long as all the measurements are in grams, you can scale down or up. Baker’s percent in based on grams. Depending on your local humidity you might have to make slight adjustments.

Halving ingredients is actually a pretty simple rule of thumb. Just make sure to keep the ratios the same - so if the recipe calls for 5 cups of flour, halve it to 2.5 cups if you want to make half the amount of bread. Hope this helps!

Many thanks…will be trying that tomorrow on my bake…
